Conditions for ice climbing in the Adirondacks were great this past week, and I managed to get my first two days of the season in. This was a nice climb in the canyon area of Chapel Pond.
It was mostly quiet with few other people around, although we did have one visitor. I suspect that in reality we were the visitors, as this little deer mouse seemed to know exactly what to expect from us humans: food.
This little fella was so used to humans, it let us get awfully close to take pictures. Hopefully nobody was deliberately feeding it, although the raptors would probably thank us.
